On behalf of the Vanessa Péan Foundation (www.vanessapeanfoundation.org) and the Great Falls Soccer Club, we would like to thank all that participated in this years 4th Annual VIP Tournament. The light rain and high winds made way for cooler temperatures and sunshine; to provide the players with a great weekend of soccer competition.
We hope that all of you had a great weekend and we wanted to thank you for your support of the Vanessa Péan Foundation and the Great Falls Soccer Club. As most of you may know, this is a fund raising tournament that supports the work of the Foundation and the maintenance of the Field named in Vanessa’s honor at Nike Park. With your participation in this tournament, we will be able to continue to fund scholarships for deserving children in Haiti and also continue to improve living conditions there by providing access to clean water.
In addition we want to thank the 50+ wonderful volunteers from the community and four of Vanessa’s former soccer coaches, Ross McEwen, Stephanie Drinkwine, Kristen Howering, and Danielle LaRoche, who came out to help on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. Special thanks to the Ambassador of Haiti, Ray Joseph, also joined us on Sunday. We appreciate everyones help and support.
Last but not least, Congratulations to this year’s winners and finalists and we look forward to hosting everyone again next year at the 5th Annual VIP Soccer Tournament – October 9th-10th 2010.

Upgrade to the Vanessa Péan Field
Additional proceeds from the tournament were earmarked to provide for funding an upgrade to the Vanessa Péan Field. The Great Falls Soccer Club (GFSC) and the VIP Foundation are excited to announce that we have initiated a Capital Campaign to fully fund the upgrade of Vanessa Péan Field to a Bermuda grass surface.
The total cost of upgrading the field is approximately $65,000 and to meet the challenge of raising the balance of Fund, a Field Improvement Capital Campaign has begun. Vanessa Péan Foundation Update
The Vanessa Péan Foundation is proud to announce that we have greatly expanded our scholarship program. Due to the generous support of our donors and the success of the VIP Tournament, The Vanessa Péan Foundation has awarded 102 scholarships to 100 girls and 2 boys comprising of 22 educational institutions in Haiti. These educational institutions include middle school and high school students in grades 8-12 and 11 female college students. The recipient schools are located in the cities of Cap-Haitien, Borgne, Milot, Port-Margot and Fort-Liberte.
In addition, The Vanessa Péan Foundation has financed a spring water well through charitywater.org in the town of Circa-la-Source in Haiti. This well provides clean water which will aid in the prevention of water borne diseases and promote basic sanitation.
